Vilma Misiukoniene

    misiukoniene3Ms. Vilma Misiukoniene is recognized by ICT industry for her 20+ years of contributions to development of digital technology policies, consulting IT companies on ICT policy and legal issues, advocating to legislators and Government authorities on behalf of Lithuanian ICT industry and its association, which she served as the EU and external affairs manager. Also, she has been coordinating EU awareness campaigns on e-Skills for more than five years nationally since 2010, and working closely with European Commission and EU Parliament on different digital policies for many years.

    Ms. Vilma Misiukoniene was the board member of DigitalEurope, European Association of Digital Technology Industry (2014-2016). She has been on several advisory and governing bodies in EU and internationally, such as ENISA – European Information Security Agency, and WITSA – Worldwide IT Association. Vilma is also a Chair of MIT (NGO ‘Moterys ir technologijos’), national contact point for Lithuania of ECWT, European Center for Women & Technology, as well as ECWT board member.

    Having started as a software developer, Vilma has moved to software industry business later on until she was invited to lead INFOBALT Copyright Agency for some years. She is recognized by her leading role in broad public awareness campaigns not only on eSkills, but on Intellectual Property, i. e. Software anti-piracy and Software patentability too. She is a founder of Lithuanian Register of IP rights for software, a co-founder of national initiative for Women & Technology, as well as HDM, Harmonization of Digital Markets of EU and Eastern Partnership.

    Over twenty years of professional experience with ICT industry, Ms. Misiukoniene has developed dozen of educational materials and publications on IP, including co-authorship of the Guide on IPR for SMEs, has run number of national and EU projects, conducted numerous presentations and training sessions. Her fields of expertise includes Acquis Communautaire related to ICT,  e-Government services, Digital Single Market, e-business, IPR protection & management, cyber security, digital publishing, internet regulation, e-Skills, Women in ICT, etc. Vilma holds Master’s degree in Applied Maths & IT, as well as Master in Law and Public Management.
