Jiří Holoubek

    After his graduation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology (FE-VUT) in 1979, he worked as a designer and later as a research worker at EZ Praha at the development centre of electric drives in Brno. Between 1985 and 1992, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Power Engineering of FE-VUT in Brno, where he focused on the topics of high-power electrothermal appliances, power interference, and distribution systems for industrial networks, particularly reactive power compensation, EMC in power systems and Power Quality.
    Since 1992, he has worked at ELCOM, a. s., a company he co-founded and where he holds the positions of Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the same time. He still addresses the issues of power interference, Power Quality and development of testing rooms and laboratories in power engineering.
    In 2008, he was elected a member of the Czech Engineering Academy. Since 2012, he has been a Chairman of Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic. Currently Jiří Holoubek is a member of the Board of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic. Here he is responsible for issues of Industry 4.0, and leads a working group for implementation of the concept Industry 4.0 in companies.
